IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING COVID-19 AND 2021 OUR ARTWILD SUMMER CAMPS:

  • We will be limiting the number of campers to 10 children per camp (no more than 20 campers in the studio at a time in the entire space). We are fortunate to have a very large and expansive studio space, which allows us the ability to spread out as much as possible, while comfortably maintaining building capacity and distancing requirements.
  • All Drop-Off/ Check-In and Pick-Up procedures will occur outside: Younger campers (Ages 3-5) will check in at our front door, and older campers (Ages 6-12) will check in at our back door. Please know which camp your child is signed up for when you arrive. For families with children in both camps, please use the appropriate door for each child. This process may take longer, especially at first. Please be patient and maintain social-distancing if waiting. If weather becomes an issue, we will address it at the time with either a tent/awning or very small, but quick in-out lobby area at each entrance.)
  • Each Camper will be assigned their own personal, labeled camp essentials for the week used by that child ONLY. Each camper will be designated their own cubby, chair, table assignment, sanitized personal kit of art materials (brushes, scissors, pencils, crayons, etc) and apron (washed every weekend) for the entire week. Again, we have lots of space, tables, chairs and multiple units of cubbies in order to confidently manage this specification.
  • Campers must bring their own water bottles, snacks and lunches (preferably in containers they can open themselves- especially for younger friends- disposable may be best-practice (think brown paper bags, packaged drinks, zip-locks). Supervised, separate hand-washing will occur before eating, with each sink disinfected after each wash. The studio will not provide any food or drink. Any assistance staff gives smaller campers with food/opening will occur with gloves used once only while helping that child.
  • We will have hand sanitizing stations throughout the studio. There also a total of three sinks and two separate bathrooms for separation. Use of all these will be closely monitored and frequently cleaned.
  • There will be at least one dedicated staff member each week whose main responsibility will be to clean and sanitize each surface after use, as well as assist managing proper distancing at all times during camp.
  • We ask that if your camper or any family member feels unwell during your week of camp to please stay home.  If anyone who lives in your home has been exposed to someone who has test positive for COVID within two weeks of camp to stay home.  Anyone who shows signs of illness during camp will be sent home.

Beyond our camp program, we have decided the studio will remain essentially CLOSED TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC, until further notice. This basically means the following:

  • Only pre-registered campers and staff will be allowed inside the studio during camp hours (no siblings, parents, other caregivers, off-duty staff, delivery or service persons) unless an absolute need arises.
  • NO walk-in inquiries, drop-in classes, open houses, unnecessary events, meetings, services or repairs will be allowed even outside camp hours. (The only exception will be additional professional cleaning services, hired to further sanitize periodically.)
  • Only pre-scheduled, pre-paid, studio events will occur.

This will drastically reduce and contain the number of people who usually pass through our spaces, and therefore keep our campers’ overall exposure limited to as few others as possible- fellow campers and their teachers.

If you have any questions or concerns about your child attending camp, please let us know. As parents ourselves, we understand very well the seriousness and importance of being as diligent and safe as possible, now more than ever.

For those of you who may ultimately decide not send your child to camp for now, we are happy to keep your registration as studio credit -good toward any other studio event (an alternate camp week, birthday party, classes, workshops etc), with no expiration/transferable to siblings. If absolutely necessary, or if any camp must be canceled, please be assured we will issue a refund. As a small local business, we do hope that you will stick with us through this time. We so appreciate your support and trust as we navigate these unfamiliar times and strive to keep our doors open, enhancing children’s lives through creativity for many more years to come!

More about our Summer Programs:
SINCE 2005, our summer programs have grown to offer wide varieties of artistic camps for all ages. Each summer, favorite camps return with new projects- plus exciting NEW creative themes every year! We are a FULL-SERVICE ARTS STUDIO for KIDS. Parents & Kids alike love our unique, original programs. Our Teachers & Artists specialize in working with children. The spacious studio is designed just for Kids and their creative process:  Imaginative, open spaces to Move, Play, Create-/ smaller tables, chairs, smocks -& even art Supplies- for our littlest friends/ lounge or play-areas with books & toys.  All conveniently located in the heart of Raleigh, across from ROANOKE PARK on Bickett Blvd (in the Five Points Neighborhood). Look for our BRIGHT GREEN building!

ART CURRICULUMS vary by Age, Specialty, Medium or Teacher.  Unless otherwise specified, most camps include multiple Art Projects. Your child will love creating & you’ll love to bring the artwork home. As a Multi-Media Art Studio, we stress creative-learning beyond the typical paintbrush or crayon:  Sculpture, Drawing, Charcoal, Inks, Oil Pastel, Acrylic, Watercolor, Textiles, Murals, Up-Cycled Material, Collage, Ceramics, Clay & Pottery (we have a KILN on-site). Students receive relevant instruction on specific mediums, techniques, & process -plus some learning about art-history and  important artists or movements relevant to camp-theme and student-age. Most camps incorporate several mediums. Sometimes a collaborative group project results in a studio installation piece created by all students working together! Specified programs combine Visual & Movement Arts like Dance, Yoga- even the Art of Sport- all taught by Raleigh’s favorite kids’ teachers!  Programs also incorporate Stories, Songs, Games, Sharing & Fun into the Artistic Experience of WILD AT ART!

Come Let Your Creativity Run Wild!

SUMMER CAMP FAQs:

WHAT TO BRING:

  • SNACK & WATER BOTTLE for ALL camps
  • LUNCH for AM camps only
  • CLOTHES that can GET DIRTY!!!

WE ARE NOW MOVING TOWARD A PEANUT-FREE FACILITY:  Due to the many serious allergy-conditions of some of our campers, we have decided this summer to begin the process of going peanut-free. Since this is new to many of our families who are used to bring PB&J, we are taking it week-by-week for now, and gently reminding. However, if there is an allergy in a given week (please let us know in advance), we will remind ALL who will be in the studio that week NOT to bring any peanut products.

AGE-GROUPS & RANGES:  We try to arrange age ranges to best support a curriculum and medium being taught. Camps specifying multiple age-groups are simultaneous but usually separate groups/classes in different studio areas (w/ a few possible joint-activities). Some camps & programs are taught in a Montessori-style with broader age-range groups, learning and sharing together creatively. Occasional age exceptions are made upon Parent Request. [i.e. placing siblings/friends together, or a slightly younger child in older group] PLEASE CALL FIRST! We strive to provide the best possible educational, developmental and enjoyable experience for all the children in our programs. We use these age-breaks for registration & teaching guidelines, but adjustments may be made during the camp week to accommodate class sizes & curriculum.  Please make us aware if your child has any special needs that our teachers may need to know so that we can give them the best experience we can(i.e: behavioral).

  • ALL CAMPERS MUST be POTTY-TRAINED
  • YOU MUST REGISTER EACH CHILD INDIVIDUALLY TO HOLD A SPOT
  • CAMPS WILL BE MARKED FULL WHEN THERE ARE NO MORE SPOTS.

CANCELLATION/ DEPOSIT & REFUND POLICY:
** $50 of each individual camp-week Tuition ($50/camp per child) is a non-refundable camp deposit ** This guarantees your spot in a camp for which someone else cannot register. If the Studio is notified of Cancellation or Request-to-Transfer [by phone or email] prior to 20-days before the camp start date [COB 5p on the MONDAY THREE WEEKS PRIOR to the camp start-date], we can do one of the following:
1)  Transfer your registration & full payment toward another camp within the same calendar year, subject to availability of spots  -OR-
2)  Credit or Refund the tuition amount minus the $50 nonrefundable deposit
