Welcome to Wild at Art Kids!
Please Allow Us to Introduce Ourselves:
CYNDI HARRIS has been teaching at Wild at Art for seven years and took the role of Studio Manager in 2016. As a child, she would doodle, draw and create constantly. That lead her to UNC Greensboro, where she received a BFA in Design and Art Education and eventually to do the one thing that gives her the most joy- enhancing children’s lives through art and creativity. Cyndi enjoys teaching classes, lessons, camps and getting to spend as much time getting to know all of the amazing children who come through the doors of the studio, as well as their families.
When not at the studio, Cyndi loves to spend time with family- her two children, Ford and Grayson + Forest, a GIANT yellow lab, see friends, spend time outside, travel, paint, craft, do yoga and try anything new and exciting!
ANNA PODRIS is a local Raleigh painter working mainly in oils and encaustic. She loves sharing her artistic practice with kids and has been teaching art classes for over 15 years. She obtained a degree in painting at the Savannah College of Art and Design.
When she’s not painting in her studio at Artspace, Anna enjoys camping and hiking in the forest with her family: husband artist Keith Norval, daughter Ingrid and dog Roux. She also enjoys visiting museums and doing yoga.
KEITH NORVAL is a local Raleigh painter who grew up in Zimbabwe before moving to the US as a kid. He liked drawing cartoons and comics from a young age and pursued making art all through school. He moved to Raleigh after earning his degree in illustration from the Savanah College of Art and Design. He has worked since then as a professional artist as well as taught kids and adults art classes. When he’s not painting he enjoys riding his bike, baking bread, playing video games and reading graphic novels.
KATHRYN JEWELL is a senior at NC State and will graduate in May with degrees in Fisheries, Wildlife and Conservation Biology and Zoology. She grew up in Wilmington, NC. She has a passion for children and art! Her favorite hobbies are painting and all kinds of needlework. Her favorite camp week is Animal Planet because she gets to share her love of animals with the kids!
LYDIA GUNN started working at Wild at Art in June 2018. She is currently a student at Meredith College, double-majoring in Studio Art and Psychology with the goal of attending graduate school to become certified as an Art Therapist. She loves working at Wild at Art because it allows her to share the love of art with kids and help them explore their own creativity.
CONNIE FOWLER and her family moved to Five Points 12 years ago and love being part of the community. Connie has two daughters (ages: twenty-two and ten), one cat and enjoys pet sitting. She joined the studio in the Summer of 2018 and enjoyed it so much she’s happy to be back this summer. Connie has worked with children since high school and has always had a passion for children and seeing their eager faces and watching them grow. Doing art and reading to children are her favorites and loves the fact that at the studio, she gets to do both. She truly loves working with all the children and the staff.
